Greg McGarvey - Dear friends, I am sorry to miss your father's memorial service! Just want you to know of my appreciation for both your mother and father! They, and all of you, are still in my wonderful childhood memories from Farmersburg! Woody and Marti Hurst kept me up on your father's condition. His celebration upon entrance into the Church Victorious must be great indeed, including reunion with his beloved Jaunita! These past days have been so difficult for all of you. If I can ever be of assistance, do not hesitate to call upon me! In ministry and mission with you, Greg McGarvey Carmel UMC

David Kugelman - I was probably not more than 10 years old when your family came to Aldersgate in the mid-70's. Growing up in that little church was a lot of fun and our family has great memories of both your Dad and your family. God is with you in your time of sorrow, just as He is always.

Rev. Lisa Marchal - Ken - or "Big Bird," as we called him - powerfully supported and positively influenced us South Indiana Conference music campers in the early 1990s. We all appreciated his wisdom, encouragement, and fun-loving attitude. He was the glue that bound our camp years together, in a way, and I was blessed to be able to keep in touch with him via Christmas cards over the years. I thank God for him and will miss him.

CJ Senif - I send you all the best of wishes. I am one of the many campers that "Big Bird" inspired over the years. We all loved him so very much.

Todd and Jenny Lamkin - Your dad was so instrumental in who I am today ( Todd). I loved his playful side sooo much. His singular effort to create music camp was tenuous. I just it could have gone on longer than it did in the style Ken liked. He will forever be "Big Bird-" to me and We will miss him terribly.

Jessie & Ray Abel & Family - Dear Holdzkom Family-Ken was my Big Brother-there was less than 7 years between us. Precious Memories--I remember Ken riding all over Venice Park & Atlantic City with me on the handlebars of his bycycle--trple dip ice cream cones, soft drinks at Grossingers, swimming in the Ocean & at the Inlet, fishing & walks on the Boardwalk. It was a special time when Ken lived with us for about 2 years when attending Drexel Univ. Building model airplanes, and then--Ken was led to enter the ministry--off to Upland, IN. & Taylor Univ. While I was in the U.S. Navy I was stationed in Chicago & when I could get liberty for the week-end I would take the train to Indianapolis & then a bus & Ken would meet me at the bus station. That was while he was ministering on the Alexandria circuit. Some time later we were abler to travel to Muncie & were seated on the front row of the church on Ken's 80th Birtday! I can still see the looks of surprise on Ken's & Juanita's (she was in the choir) faces. Many more memories, but I wanted to share a few with you. Ken will always be in my heart. God bless you & strengthen & comfort you. With moch love, Jessie & Ray & Family

Cheryl Abel Muller and family - Dear Steve,Lois, Marianne and family. I always remember Uncle Kenny, Aunt Juanita and the 3 of you with loving thoughts and great memories. It was a wonderful time when your family came to visit ours! My dad, Raymond Abel loved to share the stories from when he and Uncle Kenny grew up together. There were a lot of laughs and love flowing freely, and I especially remember the (always with love and respect) theological "debates" that went on between them. Every year, I appreciated the Christmas cards Aunt Juanita sent, keeping us up to date with what was going on in all of your lives, and sending her and Uncle Kenny's love to us all. May our loving God comfort you with all the sweet memories of such a wonderful father. Love, Cheryl, Vince and family

Rev. Mary Scifres - Dear Marianne, Lois, and Stephen, My condolences to you and your family during this time of grief and "goodbye." Your parents lived amazing lives and touched my life in so many ways. Your father was always "Paul" to my "Timothy" as I experienced and followed my call into ministry. His mentoring and guidance have impacted my life, my ministry, and every congregation I've served in many wonderful ways.
