Muncie - Muncie—John E. Mills, 66, passed away Friday evening, July 9, 2010, at Ball Memorial Hospital.

He was born November 10, 1943, in Decatur, the son of Helen V. (Miller) Mills and Gerald B. Mills. John grew up in the Redkey-Portland area and graduated from Gov. Gray High School. His career included being furniture manager at the W.T. Grant Store; auto-service manager at K-Mart South; service manager at Office Systems Limited and most recently he owned and operated Copier Specialist.

His memberships include being a charter member of the Muncie Evening Optimist Club; a past member of the Muncie Jaycees and a past member of the Muncie Noon Optimist Club.

Survivors include his friend, Randy A. Clark; four brothers, Jim Mills, (wife-Jane); Gene Mills, (wife-Connie); Jack Mills and David Mills; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Randy Mills.

Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel with Pastor Sherrie Drake officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, north of Muncie.

Family and friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., Monday or after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday.
