Fort Wayne - Ft. Wayne—Ronald Lee Mohler, 52, formerly of Muncie, passed away Wednesday morning, July 21, 2010 at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne.

He was born June 3, 1958 in Muncie, the son of Rebecca (Pierson) Mohler and Harlan Mohler. Ron grew up in Muncie and graduated from Southside High School in 1976. After graduation he joined the U.S. Army and served in Berlin, Germany; Temple, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama; Johnston Atoll; Ft. Hood, Texas and Temple, Texas. While in the Army he attended Temple College, obtained his Associates Degree in business and became a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. After Army retirement he founded LOCL-NET, the first local internet service provider for Steuben County, Indiana. Most recently he worked at ITT Aerospace, Ft. Wayne. Ron had been active in the New Life Assembly of God Church in Temple, Texas where he served as Song Leader; Bus Driver and multiple other positions. His memberships include the D.A.V., (Disabled American Veterans), and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda L. (Gibbs) Mohler; his mom, Rebecca Tharp; his dad, Pastor Harlan Mohler, (wife-Carolyn); three sons, Jeremy McWhorter; Andrew McWhorter and Michael McWhorter; one daughter, Miranda Mollenkoph; brothers, Charles Mohler, (wife-Brenda J.) and Gregory Mohler, (wife-Dee); two grandchildren, Aliyah Stanley and Victoria Mollenkoph and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his step-father, Gene Tharp, and father-in-law, Kenneth Wayne Gibbs, Sr.

Services will be held 12 noon, Monday, July 26, 2010 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel in Muncie, with his dad, Pastor Harlan Mohler officiating. Burial with Military Honors will take place at 2:00 p.m., Monday at Marion National Cemetery, 1700 E. 38th St., Marion, IN 46953.

Family and friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel in Muncie, on Sunday from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m., or after 11:00 a.m., Monday.

Victoria (Shreves) VanPelt - My Condolences to the Family,I graduated with Ron at Muncie South, I also was in JROTC with Ron,he was a Fun,Gunho kinda Guy,He was very smart and seems he has showed it over the years,news of his Death has passed along the Facebook Friends,its very sad that Ron has passed at such a young age,He'll be missed!

Kathryn Erb - Brenda, the loss and pain you’re experiencing is something beyond what I can imagine. I’ll keep you in my prayers. The two of you were so wonderful together. I will always remember how much Ron was in love with you. He spoke about you all the time. You were blessed to have someone who loved you that much.
